What is your favorite book of the Bible and why? I like to read about Abraham’s journeys in Genesis. When God told him to take his family and go he didn’t hesitate, he went. It illustrates his blind faith in God believing in God completely. He was considered a friend of God.

What is your favorite Bible verse and why? Philippians 1:6. This verse was given to us when we were going through a very difficult situation adopting our son. It gave us confidence knowing God would see it through. It has always been a verse giving me encouragement.

What is one blessing you have seen while serving in your role? When there is a need in our church, there is never hesitation in helping. Also the blessing with serving with the other Deacons and the love they have for others.

If you could choose one person from the Bible to be, who would you choose and why? Abraham. Because of his total faith in God. He believed God would give him a son in old age and then God told him to sacrifice that son and he didn’t hesitate. He knew God was faithful and would provide.

What is something fun/unique about you that others may not know? I am a carpenter for my profession. Some might not know that I am a woodcarver and clay sculptor and have been for 50 years. It has been fun teaching classes at Silver Dollar City and other places. Some think I have wood flowing through my veins.
