How long have you attend FBC Holton? Working on 5 years!
What is your favorite book of the Bible and why? My favorite book of the Bible is Romans. This book presents with great clarity how a person is justified and how we are to live our lives as the redeemed people of God.
What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
Galatians 5:1 “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.”
I love this verse because it emphasizes the fact that we are justified by faith in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus alone. When we trust Jesus we are set free from the bondage of sin and death. We are to stand firm in this truth and never add anything to the message of the Gospel of grace!
What is one blessing you have seen while serving in your role? The privilege of getting to intimately know the people and families that make up FBC. The longer we are here the more we get to know and love this body and I treasure being able to know and serve those that love and trust Jesus as Savior!
If you could choose one person from the Bible to be, who would you choose and why? I think I would want to be one of the people that Jesus walked with on the road to Emmaus. To be able to hear Jesus Himself explain the writings of Moses and all the Prophets concerning Himself would be a thrilling experience. To have my heart burn within me while Jesus opened and explained the Scriptures to me would be a life altering moment. To be in His presence and be taught by my Savior is a thought that is truly overwhelming!
What is something fun/unique about you that others may not know? When I was younger I HATED to read. It wasn’t until I found myself heading down the path of ministry that I fell in love with reading. Now I still do not enjoy reading anything except theology related books. But if a book will help me grow in my understanding and relationship with the one true and living God, that is a book I will LOVE to put into my heart and mind!
